orange
Can you tell what I'm wearing is orange? Cos to me the top looks red. I can assure you though, its orange, and I'm totally in love with this color the first time I saw the tunic at H&M. It was on sale, so I had to get it. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of orange (even on my previous post I kinda mentioned it was a first), but for this summer I can make an exception. My mom, though used to love orange before purple got so popular 2 years ago. Back then, I saw pictures of her wearing cropped tops in bright orange colors and in bright green ones too, which come to think of it, I actually wanna find them to reconstruct.
My mom, she's a huge fashionista. But I have to admit our taste in clothes and style is completely different. She's more on the very lady-like side, sophisticated and feminine, and never caught wearing sneakers! (She owns only 1 pair of running shoes and about 3 dozen heels). She'd never approve of me wearing ragged clothes such as this look I'm sporting for this post. Nonetheless, she supports me and my blog so I don't really mind. Besides, even if out tastes vary, I can always find something in her closet that I can claim. I'll give an example: This polka dotted socks. See, she loves wearing boots so much during winter time so she has a lot of long socks to wear with. If it was me, I'd rather buy plain ones actually, but for some reason she likes buying patterned ones like polka dots and checkered even if they can't really be seen behind the boots. Bur I liked this pair particularly because I'm fond of polka dots (though not necessarily red dots)... so one day I just claimed it mine.
Anyway, since I bought this top, I've been meaning to sport a color blocked look but I can't seem to find the right pieces together. I always end up having just one bright color amidst black pieces. Upon walking around this afternoon, looking for a place to shoot, we saw this fence (oh, I was with Chezka) which was bold yellow. I though to myself, well, if I cant color block with my clothes, heck just block with the background. I liked how the photos turned out. Do you?
On an unrelated note: Easter Break's over =( ... Time flies, and it's back to school and work tomorrow. How was your easter darlings?
Cheers,
Carla Violet
