HKFW F/W14 Visual Diary - Day 1
I'm a little overwhelmed by how much photos we took during the past few days we spent at Hong Kong Fashion week, especially on the first and second day. Sorting them out has become a difficult task cause there's just so much that I want to share with you guys. I don't even know where to begin. I guess taking it one day at a time is the easiest way to, so let's have it that way.
For the most part, day 1 was all about the Fashion Extravaganza - the first house show featuring 4 well recognized designers from all over. Penguin, Chezka, and I skipped the part of visiting the exhibition halls during the day and went straight to see the show in the evening. It felt absolutely wonderful to be at the scene and seeing notable people from Hong Kong's fashion and entertainment industry, including singer/songwriter Coco Lee, singer/actress Gigi Leung, and Helena Chan of Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 1 whom we were able to meet up close. I couldn't stop staring at the amazing people - the models, celebrities, different personalities, bloggers, and all the eye-catching dress-up event-goers. It was just too much to reel in.

The show started with the collection by Paris-based Designer Calla Haynes - my personal favorite so far. I loved the soft hues, and prints combined with blacks; it was very Spring - very young, modern, and definitely something that I'd wear on a daily basis. I just loved every look from first to last.

Then it ended with a celebratory show of the collection by Henry Lau - Hong Kong based designer and founder of the brand 'SPY'. His show was definitely a stopper, with its romantic theme and avant-garde pieces.

The other two designers were Paris-Shanghai based Masha Ma, presented by W Hotels, and spanish designer Amaya Arzuaga (not pictured). I specially loved the collection by Masha Ma - it was very city chic with edge. She did an amazing job incorporating abstract prints, sheers, and cut-outs into the pieces. But my ultimate favorite has to be the shoes! The shoes were super amazing and super cool!

Oh, we also fortunate enough to join the after-show party, which made me giddy =) It was just overall an amazing experience and definitely not one to forget.
Stay tuned for day 2!
