Golden Girl

Et viola! Blondie's finally making a debut in this corner of cyberspace. As much as I'm loving how perfectly shimmering golden my hair turned out, I never actually planned to go blonde. The aim was grey. Fifty freaking shades of grey. I have been contemplating on the process for sometime as far as hair dying goes because there's a million percent possibility that I would end up looking like an old lady. But Penguin got me convinced. And so one night when I finally had the courage to do it... This. Happened.

Now, I'm not overly dramatic but you could have guessed that when I saw my hair turning yellow instead of white when my colorist started the bleaching process, I panicked a little. But I thought it should take time before my dark mane is stripped off of all its colors so I waited.

But no.

One layer done and after another my scalp is burning in pain, I realized that the color isn't going any less yellow. So I prepared myself for the worst.

My colorist explained that they have to add a third layer to get the whole grey thing going. But at that point my scalp is already stinging like hell and the treatment couldn't go on. So I had no choice but to go home blonde. Fortunately, it didn't turn out so bad. And I guess after fishing for opinions to assure myself that I don't look like a clown, it has grown on me. Now I love it!

The salon people told me to come back after a week or so to have the third layer applied but I'm starting to get used to being blonde. And to be honest, I'm sort of traumatised with what pain I had to go through with the bleaching experience that I'm subconsciously holding back. What do you think though - keep the blonde or pursue grey?

Meanwhile, this floral jumpsuit and camel coat combo encapsulates how perfectly ready I am for spring. The past few weeks of humid has been rather depressing that I can't wait for the sun to come out and play again. Today's a little promising so fingers-crossed. Hopefully, the dark days will soon be over.

  4. Yowza, bleaching sounds so painful! I didn't realize it would hurt that much, but it does make sense. Well, I say you pull off the bold blonde look, so if you don't really want the grey, it'd be okay to stick with this :)
Love the floral jumpsuit too! You're such a trendsetter!!
