Juicing with Greens Macau
This is very much delayed but nonetheless, as promised, here's how my detox by juicing went. First off, big thanks to Greens Kitchen and Juicery for giving me the privilege to try this amazing program. I've gone through some sort of cleansing before but never by juicing so this is a first. And as extreme as I can be (at least so I think of myself), I didn't realize this was going to be quite challenging until I was at it. Note to self: next time, don't be to cocky when trying out new things. Capiche?
As for you guys, my advise is that if you're a first-timer, take it easy. But in order for you to better understand, here's how it works.
Basically, you can choose the length as to how many days you want to go through with the program. It can range from 1 day to 10 days. The programs vary wherein some allow you to eat, and others not. Simultaneously, there are three levels of detoxification: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance. For the purpose of getting the most out of this experience, they arranged for me to have a 3-day program at a different level each day. Like I said, some programs allow you to eat but... this isn't one of them. And so, it was all about just drinking juice for the whole 3 days.
Day 1: Intermediate Level, Detox Package Rejuvenate
Drinks: Detox H2O, Greens, Bee, Ruby, Acai Punch, Spring, Almond Mylk, Green H2O
The first half of day 1 was pretty easy and I did like the first 2 drinks for breakfast which were quite light and mostly green veggies. But came lunch time, I started to become hungry. It didn't help either that the next two drinks consisted of red veggies and beets. I thought I couldn't make it through without at least nibbling on some biscuits but I guess the hunger wore off. By the afternoon I was doing alright.
I like that the intermediate level sort of gives you a feel of the different types of juices that Greens offer because it includes a combination of juices made out of pure vegetables, then roots, fruit juices, then nuts. My favorite has got to the Almod Mylk and Greens.
Day 2: Advance Level, Detox Package Purity
Drinks: Detox H2O, Green Lemonade, Spring, Greens, White Mint, Popeye, V-8, Green H2O
This day was definitely the most challenging because every juice was purely made either out of vegetables or roots. Honestly, I'm not a veggie person so I found it really difficult to like the juices picked out for this day. If I had to choose a favorite from this set, definitely I can only say Detox H2O, which is only water, lemon, cayenne, and honey. Simple. But I can't speak for everybody because some of you might actually love these flavors. So I guess its just best to try for yourself.
Day 3: Beginner Level, Detox Package Take a Break
Juices: Detox H2O, White Mint, ABC Shake, Camel, Chocolate Mylk, Coconut H2O, Gazpacho, Green H2O
Definitely the easiest day and I like that some of the juices here felt almost like a reward for having gone through level 2 and 3 detox process the past 2 days. My favorite is definitely the ABC shake, which doesn't seem at all a detox juice but more of a treat, and of course Chocolate Mylk. I can never resist a good chocolate drink.
It's disgusting but I do have to say this - I'd been going to the toilet from day 1 up to now, and it definitely feels amazing to be able to release all the toxins from my body. However, I do think that next time I do this, I'll stick to one particular level and possibly do it for a longer period where I get to eat something solid instead.
If you ever decide to juice, take into account how long you think you can go without eating anything solid, how much can you tolerate the taste of pure vegetables and roots, and what you want to achieve before you choosing a package. Also, if you could prepare your body for at least a week by eating as less and as healthy as possible, would be a big help. Good luck!
I've seriously considered a juicing detox for a few weeks now. This seems like it might be a good place to start. Thanks for all of the info and advice! Sounds great minus the drinks with beets--yuck!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to try juicing some day, in summer I could live with liquids alone so that shouldn't be an issue. The juices in this post look super delicious! ♥
ReplyDeleteLooks good :)

Great review over the process Carla!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I could do it, because damn, I love to eat...but this could be worth a try.
Haha, I'd be like you though, because purely veggie juices? Blegh...
