a shot of whiskey
Blogging still from Manila with an outfit backlog from Paris. I'm bored of the tropical season here; makes me miss the now cooler weather of Macau and that of Europe. I miss wearing long overcoats with layers of garments underneath; I miss this checked shawl wrapped around my neck like my life depended on it. I feel so bare. But then I guess it's not just the weather, rather being here in general. There's more to it than just the way I feel so stripped off of my right to dress up how I want and when I want and it's a long story that should be reserved for another post so I'll stop the rant for now and get on with the outfit.
Not a lot of people understand why I feel more myself and comfortable when I'm in streetwear or a menswear inspired outfit. Of course, society in general expect girls to look like, well, proper ladies; tight dresses, high heels, pretty in pastel. While I do once in a while like to play it feminine, I can't escape the fact that I'm more of a tomboy than your average girly girl; not for every body. And that's OK. I'm that kind, somebody's shot of whiskey.
This outfit in particular is one of those moments that I felt like it. Walking around in Paris in the most comfortable, freshest getup without worrying of looking whether I looked like a fool or too cool for school is just what I needed to really take in and make me feel like a part of the city. Besides, Penguin thought we made for a perfect Paree squad when we took this mirror selfie. And so I'm content; I'm his shot of whiskey.
