#ArtBaselHK | Streetwear, Events, and Tings Visuals and VLOG
The weekend turned out to be a bit eventful with a day trip to Hong Kong with Penguin to check out some of the happenings during Art Basel week. To be honest, we didn't get the chance to see the art installations at Art Central where the artsy stuff are actually at. While I appreciate art in all forms, for people like us who are into the fashion kinda art more than the others, we were inclined to attend the more fashion-related events and exhibitions, streetwear fashion nonetheless. Do watch the video that I compiled and uploaded on my youtube channel or continue reading to the end of the post where you can find the video!
Shopping, of course, was mandatory. That, catching up with an old friend, Krisha, meeting ByranBoy, and getting Penguin's "All Gone" book signed by no other than the man behind it - Michael Dupouy. But the best part about the whole thing was just being there, seeing art the way we'd like to make art; visuals, clothes, while being amongst a crowd of people that we can connect and relate to.
Sometimes I forget why I have this blog in the first place. Out of boredom or plainly out of habit. But attending events like the ones we did gives me that nudge that I sometimes need to just remind myself that I blog because I'm passionate about creating my kind of art; fashion; visuals of any form, be it photos, drawings, or even meaningless doodles; music, something that I rarely ever talk about but in fact is still in me.
Take this from me, if you ever question yourself for doing what you do or forget the reason why, if it ever seemed that nothing makes sense, just get out and get a refresher. Attend an event and meet people, travel perhaps. Just don't ever do one thing, and that is give up. Make yourself remember and keep doing what you love.
Hope you enjoy the simple visual recap and the video. Don't forget to subscribe too if you like it!
Cheers,
Carla
