Golden Hour on Golden Gate at the Golden State

This is perhaps my favourite photo set from our time in San Francisco. The setting, the lighting, the timing - everything just fell into place and it couldn't have been any more perfect.

These were taken essentially on our last day. Imagine that. Most people who are visiting San Francisco for the first time would have ticked off the Golden Gate Bridge and the Twin Peaks on their first day but not us. But well, I guess we're not most people because after all, who goes walking around on foot for hours and take hundreds of photos in one single location before moving on to the next. So yes.

Anyway, we went to this place I believe is called Battery Lancaster where there was this building that you can go up to the rooftop and have this amazing view of the bridge from the bottom looking up and that's where we took some of these photos from. It's the perfect little outfit photo spot for anyone who's looking to have the bridge as the backdrop.

After that, we went straight to the Twin Peaks in time to catch the sunset. I never thought we'd actually make it to the twin peaks seeing as our schedule that day was bit tight; traffic was bad that particular day given it was Memorial Day weekend so expectations weren't that high. But I guess if you will with a positive mindset, there's really nothing that can be done. And mind you, it was mostly overcast on our last few days but that very day, the sun showed up and we were able to witness the sun set on the city skyline.

If you're wondering how we took these photos exactly, we had to climb down the slopes of the hill which is beyond the viewing deck or street, whatever you call it, overlooking the city. It's a little steep but manageable. I do recommend going there before sunset or at least when the sun is not too high up to achieve the dramatic effect of the grass catching light. It makes the images look simply magical.
