Weekend Routine in Bangkok
Hello folks, it's almost weekend again! And right around this time, I'm planning ahead what to do with my free time.
Since I got here, I've been exploring the street markets and the malls on my own, and when Pierre came, I took him to the same areas that I did on my first few days here. When he left came my parents and as expected, it was the same thing allover again. Frankly, I think I've been to Chatuchak more times than I can assume locals do on their spare time in a month's time. But now that I've not lined up any visitors this coming weekend, I'm left to explore all on my own again. No more weekend Chatuchak - Siam routine.
Exploring alone gets me excited because I can take up as much as time as I want getting lost, wandering around. But it also makes me a bit sad that I don't get to take as much photos as I want since I have to rely on my good old friend, self-timer. Alas, it's time to bring back the old tricks coffee cups and water bottles (because I'm in fact lazy to bring tripods along with me). But I will commit for the sake of content (even if it doesn't really bother me as much as it did whenever I don't get to post).
I've been trying to stay away from the toxicity of social media so if you wonder why the lack of Instagram posts, this is why. I just don't see the point any more when everyone's just doing it to gain fame and money. The good old blogging days where people did it to express creativity, passion, and art is long gone. And to me, taking a photo with a smartphone and instant filter is not as exciting as learning about cameras, lenses, honing photo editing skills using photoshop and lightroom; not to mention discovering your true personal style instead of following what's currently trendy on the gram. There was real effort to be had back then.
Anyway, I didn't mean to rant but just wanted to express how I felt and why I'm on and off the grid. This blog is essentially the only outlet that's important to me, never mind the tube and the gram.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
I did VLOG on my first visit to Chatuchak market and that will soon be up on the YT channel after my last Europe VLOG (I know, it's not over yet). But bear with me. I'm starting to get a better grasp of my daily routine here in Bangkok and soon I'll be back on my regular 2-3 day updates.
In the meantime, I leave you with this set that Pierre took when he was here two weeks ago.
Have a great start of December, ya'll!
