Tegalalang Rice Fields Girl
One of the places that I really wanted to see in Bali is the Tegalalang rice terraces. But seeing that we were staying in Uluwatu for the most part of our trip, I did not expect that we would be able to set foot in this fields knowing that it is located in the the inlands of Ubud, nearly 3 hours away from where we were staying. Fortunately our all-around driver did not mind picking us up early in the morning for a return day trip. And so with much conviction from the locals that we met early on, we hit the road.
Traffic in Bali can be pretty bad, I tell you. If you're going to Bali and planning to stay in the central area - Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, better keep this in mind; getting around can be a pain unless you rent a motorcycle which is pretty much what most tourists do. But, upon arriving at our destination, while of course stopping by a few spots along the way (anyone ever tried Luwak poop coffee?), the near 3-hour drive was so worth it!
Tegalalang rice terraces is as beautiful in photos as it is in real life. The only thing I did no expect is that 1) It is too crowded (but why wouldn't it be? It has, after all become a tourist spot thanks to Instagram); and 2) it would take both your arms and legs to walk around the premises because the slopes can be steep and slippery. And in this dress? What was I thinking? All for the photos, of course. But to be fair, I wasn't at all underdressed because a lot of the other girls who were there, obviously for the same reason that I am, were wearing long, billowy, dresses in white. I repeat. In. White. Oh my. Thinking of all the mud waiting to latch onto those white dresses. Anyway, not judging.
Anyway, I've finished sorting and editing the rest of the visuals from this Bali trip so expect a few more non-sporadic posts coming your way in the next couple of days! Really been trying to get myself back into blogging more, but I don't want it to feel like a chore between the amount of stuff I have to think about these days. But I won't start ranting. Instead, I'll keep this short and leave you here.
Until my next!
